Suggested trip/event information-When you plan a trip or event, the more information you specify, the more likely you are to have other people participate in your event. An event does not have to be a long river trip. If you want to get together to work on some kayak rolls, that goes here too. We suggest you provide at least the trip/event date, location, time of departure, expected duration, your name, some way of contacting you, description of the event, and cost (if any).

Overview-This division is very similar to the Recreational Division, but with a focus on creating opportunities to practice and experience white water paddling. Because Michigan does not have very many places to white water kayak, canoe, or raft, the planned events in this division will be longer and sometimes out of state. In Kalamazoo, there will be opportunities to work on basic white water skills (rolling, stroke techniques, reading the river, etc.) so that we will be prepared for the faster water when we get there. Additionally, South Bend, IN, is the home an Olympic White Water Training Park, which is open (for a small fee) to the public at scheduled times.
